so i noticed there isn't really a list and discription of negitive things that can happen if you are neglectful of your city, I'd like to throw that up now.
A citizine has left to look for work, the icon is a guy on a bike- this happens when from having too high of unemployment, as far as i can tell one of these equals one loss to your population. prevent by added to industry.
several inhabitants leave to find a place that is not polluted, the icon is a car driving away - happens from having i high pollution rate, I'm not sure how many people leave or if the number is always the same. prevent by added to your enviroment
the roads are damaged after riots, shows a car blown up symbol - happens from i high crime percentage, effects your transport, how much will differ. prevent by adding to security.
several acres of forest have been burned, shows a match with a fire in a circle with a slash through it - also from high crime percentage, prevent by adding security.
citizens are fed up with the traffic and leave, has a 30 with a slash through it, (not sure what the thirty means i'm gonna go with speed limit) - happens if your trasport percentage drops too low, causes population to drop, i'm not sure by how much. prevent by adding to trasportation.
a factory has exploded, shows a little exploding icon - i have no idea why it happens or how to prevent it. causes industry to suffer
Bad hygiene conditions cause clients to flee from restaurants and shops! Several businesses were forced to close.
A fire has devastated X hectares of forest. Police search for the arsonist.
and finally i've seen a nuke on a few of these? the icon is well a mushroom cloud, i've only seen this on fr sites so i don't know what causes it or how to prevent it or even what the losses are.
EDIT: found info on the nuke, it has to do with rival cities filling up your 'antiville' meter is what i'm going to call it, the same way that you do everything else, one click per IP adress per day to boost the counter, the first missle strike takes 100 clicks and after that they take 1000 clicks.
that's all i know, if anyone wants to help fill in the blanks please do.

Good job
There are several other negative things, but I only know then in french
About the factory explosion, it makes a lot of dead
For the moment, nukes are not available for myminicity, juste for miniville
about the citizen departure for traffic problems, the number of lost inhabitant is function of the quality of transport. If you have 90% of transportation, only some inhabitant left, but if you have for exemple 20% transportation, it will be catastrophic and citizens will left by dozains

As for factory explosion:
It may be caused in two ways: by criminals (while I am not sure) or just closed.
There is a city named "indind" for an experiment of building ind-only city. Now pop 59, ind 48 (http://indind.myminicity.com/xml). It suffers several factory closures. It suggests the max. value of ind is capped with a pop value-related parameter.
Same could be said between sec and env. I saw parks burned with suspicious fires while the criminal rate of the city was 0% at that time.

I just looked at indind. The factory closure occurred with 66 pop and 53 ind. Would be interesting to see how it scales. Right now, looks like if ind exceeds 80% of pop, factories might close.
Similar effects if you have com that exceeds tra, your shops close due to lack of supplies.

| I did lots more clicks on indind, and that rule is exactly right. If ind is over 80% of pop, the next click on ind causes a random number of factory closures to reduce the number.

zcro,
Yes, we know that rule, but there is also a limit on the maximum number of ind. You cannot increase it beyond 0.8 * population.
There is also a limit on max com, as well, although we don't know exactly what that limit is based on (yet). We are doing lots of experiments to find out though!

Have a new one : Bad hygiene conditions cause clients to flee from restaurants and shops! Several businesses were forced to close.
A fire has devastated 4 hectares of forest. Police search for the arsonist.
I add it on your list.
